In order to reduce the pollution and promote green public transportation, the urban development department of UP has allotted 700 air-conditioned e-buses across 14 cities, of which 50 buses are being operated in Varanasi. An e-bus charging station has been constructed in Mirzamurad area of Rajatalab tehsil with 2 sub-stations of 160 kVA each having a capacity of charging a total of 30 e-buses at a time.
Features
There will be elaborate arrangements for the safety of the passengers in the electric bus. Even the dial 112 number of the police department is also linked in the bus. So that the information of any incident can be given to the police immediately. There are two automatic fire extinguishers, one near the driver and one near the wiring centre at the rear which will prove effective in extinguishing the fire. The CCTV cameras installed inside will be linked to the command control. Panic buttons, VTS and CCTV cameras installed inside will start working.
