ABOUT

Shri Kashi Vishwanath is the most popular temple of Varanasi which houses one of the twelve jyotirlingas. It is said that mere glimpse of the Jyotirlinga is believed to be a soul purifying experience. The temple was demolished and re-built several times between 1194 and 1777. In 1777 Ahilya Bai Holkar, the queen of Indore built the present structure of the temple. The Kashi Vishwanath Corridor project connects the iconic Kashi Vishwanath temple and the ghats.

Sugam Darshan

Sugam darshan is a ticket-based darshan where a devotee can avoid hassle. This is a special process for quick queue-less, hassle-free darshan experience. It has been designed for devotees with time constraints, divyangs or any such disability who cannot afford to wait in queue.

By Air

By Train

Varanasi is an important and major rail junction. The city is served by trains from all metros and major cities across the country. New Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta, Chennai, Gwalior, Meerut, Indore, Guwahati, Allahabad, Lucknow, Dehradun… the city has direct rail connections. Varanasi Cantt Railway Station Enquiry number 135.

By Road

Some important road distances are: Agra 565 km., Allahabad 128 km., Bhopal 791 km., Bodhgaya 240 km., Kanpur 330 km., Khajuraho 405 km., Lucknow 286 km., Patna 246 km., Sarnath 10 km., Lumbini (Nepal) 386 km., Kushi Nagar 250 km. (via Gorakhpur), UPSRTC Bus Stand, Sher Shah Suri Marg, Golgadda Bus Stand.

From 4 to 11 AM the temple remains open for general Darshan. From 11:30 to 12 AM Midday Bhog Aarti is performed by the priests where a range of bhog prasadam is offered to the Lords.

Again from 12 Noon to 7 PM devotees are free to have Darshan of the Baba.

In the evening, from 7 to 8:30 PM, Saptarishi Aarti is done after which darshan is again possible up till 9:00 PM when Shringar / Bhog Aarti starts.

Shayan Aarti starts at 10:30 PM and the Temple closes at 11 PM.

Booking date cannot be rescheduled.
At the time of aarti and on special days sugam darshan is not allowed.
Devotees can book sugam darshan only in the available darshan slot for the day.
Same day booking can be done over the helpdesk counter only.
On-call booking facility is not available.
Entry to the Temple is subjected to Temple Administration approval.
No fee will be charged by the temple trust to the differently-abled devotees for darshan at Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
